First post for some time. Left Naples on the 24th to catch the ferry from Salerno to Tunis. Arrived in Salerno to discover that the ferry have been delayed due to bad weather. No problem, we headed back to the city to have a meal and returned later that evening only to find it had been further delayed and were told to wait in a nearby area. At around 11PM after standing in the freezing rain and horizontal wind for 4 hours, my family were now looking at me with utter contempt in their eyes for causing them to be in this position. Cold, wet, no sleep, backpacks soaked..........then it started to hail.
The ferry ended up leaving 21 hours late.
Anyhow, Tunis. As we were a day late into Tunis we had very little chance to come to grips with the city though I did manage to get us lost on a few occasions in the evening somewhere in the souk. Morgan is starting to realise that she cannot follow me blindly and expect to be able to find our way back........or even to where we want to go and has started taking notice of where we are and has been the one to guide us out of some interesting places. I will have to start setting more tricky situations for her.
Today were packed into a louage and had a look at the Roman amphitheatre at El Jem where managed to have a bit of kick to kick before attracting the attention of some stern looking attendants. We then pushed on to Sfax were we are now spending the night.
