Kath and myself ferry and tram hopped back and forth to asia while the kids went to the grand bazaar...again!
We found an interesting restaurant for lunch called "The Beer Port" It may have been my choice!
Kathy thought she would order a wine to have with lunch... "no wine, we are beer port, If you want wine, you must go to wine port!"
That night, at Daniels constant insisting, we walked to a hammam in the suburbs. My knee began clicking as we approached, bringing back old memories.......and fears. Demons of the past rose up to confront me. Visions of my only previous Turkish Bath experience 20 years ago swamped over me, almost incapacitating me. I was back there again, laying face down on a heated marble slab with both of my own feet inserted partially up my backside....oh no! he is trying to push my head up after my feet!
My knee burned and clicked even louder. I started sweating. With my insides turning into liquid, I pressed on, not wanting to show fear to my family, through the door, down the stairs into the enveloping warmth and humidity.
It was fine, we had a nice sauna and a bit of a wash and back to the hotel.
Our last day we spent the morning in the park between my 2 old friends Aya Sopia and Sultan Ahmet II Camii, grabbed a last kebab and headed of to the airport to catch dodgy airline company flight to Paris....it was cheap!
