Toured the Gallipoli battlefields and cemetries with a mad taxi driver who insisted on playing to us a CD of his football teams club songs and accompanied the songs with eratic movements of his arms and hands, which really should have been on the steering wheel at the time.........not that it mattered, as we could have been careening down one of the many crevassas dropping away from the road and he would only have known by the widening of our terror filled eyes (our screaming would not have been heard over the footy songs) as he was twisted around in his seat, singing and dancing to us and really not focussed on the road at all. No wonder we never took the penninsular.
Nevertheless, it was an interesting and informative day out, although Kathy has taken to having her Jamesons straight.
The following day we visited the ancient city of Troy and found the whole thing rather tame and mundane.

Hey there O'Herlihy's
We've been watching your blog every couple of days but I must say that I have absolutely no idea where you even are most of the time! So many ruins! Hope your travels are enjoyable and you aren't all getting too chilled. Just think of us back here with normally 43 degree heat but luckily it has been overcast and beautiful since New Years - lovin' it.
Loved the last lot of photos, great but does look cold.
Love to all.

Loved the commentary about the taxi driver...you really should be a writer Glen! It's about time you realised your true talent :-) All of these places that you talk about makes me feel so uneducated when it comes to overseas. God it looks freezing over there whilst here in Adelaide we are enjoying nice hot (not dingo hot) weather. Dont think I want to look at this site anymore - it's making my 5 day working week seem totally mundane (which of course in comparison it is!!). Seriously though great you are enjoying yourself (I assume) and opening other people's lives to true blue Aussies.
